About

Ebook Publishers to Watch: 2012 is about the people who are experimenting in the digital reading arena, or theme park, or whatever it is. That's the ebook, anyway.

This site is half about that too, but also (maybe 40 percent) about experimenting at the intersection of ebooks, and commerce, and the Web. The other 10 percent has been set aside for tasty kale recipes, but I haven't gotten around to that yet.

And, oh yeah, about the author...

D.C. Denison is an atomic content provider at The Boston Globe. He is the author of "As Seen on TV" (Fireside/Simon and Schuster). In 2010 he spoke about this very ebook project at the O'Reilly Tools of Change for Publishing conference in New York.

The author began this project during an unexpected, unpaid, five-day sabbatical (aka furlough).

Now this project is as much about exploring the evolving "ebook ecosystem" as it is about the ebook publishers themselves, who are interesting, yes, but so is Google Analytics.

If you're looking for a bigger bucket, as far as ebook publishing goes, check out the ReadMat Publishing site next door.
